Our client is a leading international network of quality, innovative institutions of higher education. Their network of more than 65 accredited campus-based and online universities offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs to more than 750,000 students, who are part of an international, academic community that spans 29 countries.
The client needed a single, integrated, and Web-based information management system to generate reports, dashboards, and scorecards. They depended on different applications to generate reports resulting in inconsistency across divisions. Reports were generated in multiple styles and formats, making it challenging to organize and integrate information. The client also wanted timely access to information in a reliable format. This required the use of Cognos to create reports, dashboards, and scorecards and publish the same to SharePoint.
Marlabs rolled out the DW-BI solution for the client considering the challenges faced. We extracted the key data points that were needed to populate the scorecard metrics and dashboard KPIs and transformed and loaded into the existing data warehouse using SQL Server Integration Services. We also created reports, scorecards, and dashboards for the client users to monitor and track the admissions and enrollment process using ReportStudio and MetricStudio. Marlabs also converted the Cognos reports and dashboards into Web Parts that could be integrated into the client’s existing SharePoint portal.
