1:00 pm – 2:00 pm ET

  Increase data warehouse flexibility
  And accelerate decision processes

Featuring: Rajesh Ramaswamy - BI Practice Head Register Now
When your business moves ahead, does your data warehouse stay in lock-step with your needs? Does it continue to support decisions with the in-depth data that you had come to rely upon?

A recent survey indicated that the priority is to develop data warehousing projects that are timely and responsive to changing needs. When participants were asked what they would alter about data warehousing technology if they could, approximately 22% cited solutions that are easier to change.

Or, are reports and analytics increasingly mismatched with altered business scenarios and processes?

A key determinant of change-readiness and the bedrock of the warehouse is its data model.

Meeting today’s needs with an agile data warehouse requires a robust data model.  Business changes should drive data model change in order to ensure that the warehouse continues to be effective.

Join us and learn about how you can increase data warehouse flexibility, and strengthen decision support through accurate and timely analysis of data.

  Meeting Agenda

Rajesh will provide a quick refresher on dimensional modeling and current trends in data warehouse design. He will also present tips for effective data modeling.

Building flexible data models

Discussing how to map user needs to the underlying data model, Rajesh will explain the steps to check whether the current model has adequate flexibility. And discuss what goes into developing an agile data model.
Real world examples

Rajesh will share the learning gained from evaluating data models on client projects. This will include unique challenges such as handling flex fields - new fields added by users in source transactional systems after the warehouse is setup.

Q&A

Speaker Profile - Rajesh Ramaswamy, BI Practice Head
Rajesh began his career designing and building one of the first data warehousing products in the world. A significant achievement, early on in his career, was the design and implementation of a data warehouse for a leading financial services company. The warehouse was rolled out to seven countries across South East Asia from a single central location.  A graduate of BITS, Pilani, a top Indian engineering school, with a ‘dual’ engineering and science degree, Rajesh has contributed to several white papers and seminars in the areas of data warehousing and business intelligence.
