The Marlabs ERP implementation methodology has the following major phases:
Define
Definition is a client facing activity and typically happens at the client site. The offshore team may support the documentation process including revisions to documentation, based on client interaction.
Steps include:
- Project scope
- Work content definition
- Project plan
- Business requirements
- Conversions and interfaces
- User signoff
Design
Approved designs are used for performing system setup and configuration, as per user requirements. Any deviations from standard functionality or requirements that need customizations will be built with custom code.
Steps include:
- Gap analysis
- Configuration of the base system
- Development of customizations or extensions
- Design of conversion
- Interface designs
- Solution footprint design signoff
Configure
During this phase, the system is configured and built as per client requirements.
Steps include:
- Business process mapping to establish functional flows.
- Development of custom code over and above base application functionality.
- Solution footprint unit testing.
Deploy
Once the base system is configured and the custom code is developed and tested, the system is ready for deployment. The business solution is deployed in phases or as a whole - on a given instance of the ERP.
Steps include:
- Migration of tested code to the target instance for production
- Creation of base instance setups followed by conversions, interfaces and customizations
- Ready for Go Live
Support
This phase includes activities to support the live ERP instance for a pre-determined period.
Steps include:
- Helping the client to build the necessary skills to support the ERP instance - either internally or with the help of Marlabs
- Planning of transition for handover of the system to the client team
