Vignette Portal Developer
Duration - Full-Time
Location - Seattle,WA
Job Description and Responsibilities:
* Dual reporting line to the Leads of Ratings Gateway for CGS and SF in the capacity as a senior designer and developer for the portal platform in support of projects, new development and maintenance efforts;
* Work closely and collaborate with business analysts and UX Team to clarify and implement against requirements and specifications;
* Collaborate, create, and submit detailed systems and coding design and map specifications for code development;
* Perform code analysis and work with UX Team, architects and other developers to come up with the best balance of functionality vs. code quality vs. performance vs. delivery timing vs. work effort;
* Support an existing portal production environment, working with the portal Operations team to troubleshoot application level bugs, deployment, configuration, and code change management;
* Work in a multi-team environment balancing the support of the technical team and representing all aspects of technical implementation;
* Perform application development based integration and technology solutions and tasks, providing up to date documentation of technical specs;
* Partner and work closely with the portal leads and architects to provide and implement best practices across projects;
* Partner with the portal Operations Team to help drive operational readiness and excellence to improve the portal platform reliability, availability, scalability and performance (RASP);
* Work with portal leads and act as a mentor as needed for other developers, providing technical guidance and support to less experienced team members
* Able to quickly integrate with culturally diverse work groups
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
* Minimum 7 years of experience in software development and system integration area;
* At least 5 years of strong hands on production development experience in Java/J2EE environment including JSP, Servlet and EJB;
* At least 2 years of strong hands on production development experience using MXML and ActionScript 3 using the Flex Builder environment;
* Suitable candidate should also have a strong understanding and practical application of MVC through the Spring Framework, and other J2EE design patterns;
* At least 5 years of production experience in the design and development of information systems on portal-based projects using portal technology;
* Programming experience: Java/J2EE, JSR 168, Spring framework, AJAX/JavaScript (Dojo with DWR), Application Architecture experience, Database Stored Procedures, XML, HTML, DHTML
